head of the day

In olden times, one would make a head like this every day during the month of October. This is the 1st one this year, though.

That’s a really cool tradition, and that’s a neat head.

What? I never heard of such a thing? Is this a King toad tradition, and by olden days you mean the 80’s? explain? It looks like a lovely tradition.

You know, if you increased your face quantity and were willing to part with some, they could make an excellent addition to the upcoming PATV Art Auction fundraiser. I bet they’d do well with an explanation of said tradition [I’d like to hear it too].

When IS that PATV art auction, anyway? Is it real or mythological?

Umm… the face pictures tradition stems from me liking fall and Halloween, and thus making (at times some quite blatantly Hal of Ween SPOOKIFYING, other times not) drawnigs and paitnings to celebrate this, the most Octoberred of all months. Doesn’t reach quite as far back as the 80’s, though, I don’t think. ‘94, maybe?

How you do is: each day in October, you make a new picture and hang it on you wall. Then as soon as the month ends, the pictures come down. The next year, Oct. 1st, you get out all the heads and put em back up, and also begin making a new one each day again.

After a bunch of years of this, you will about have more pictures on your October walls than you can know with what to do! But don’t worry, many days you just won’t feel like making a picture, so you won’t do it. Plus, several years back, Booger your cat will pee on your entire collection of ‘Tober heads, and you will throw them all out in a rage. Then you will probably regret this (not trying to salvage at least some of them) for the rest of your life. !

But you will re-start the process, and eventually build up a hefty stack once again.

though to be honest I did laugh at first, I am sorry to hear about your past ‘Tober heads. It seems like a fun tradition, I hope you won’t mind if I give it a try. Halloween and October is my favorite time of year, and the more fun traditions the better!!

By all means, apply this October Head tradition to your own lifes! Do it up classic style, or give em a lil twist–what about TWO heads a day? Or maybe HALF a head: draw one half a head one day and finish it the next???? No matter how you dice it, awesome is predicted.
